when i create an intent with a certain amount and charge partially, stripe says the intent was finalized as a "partial refund"
Yes that how partial capture works

however our clients keep getting multiple charges instead of one charge with the partial refund
I'm not sure I understand. Can you clarify what the merchant is seeing and what you thing they should see instead?

the problem is from the clients point of view
i expect the client credit transaction details to contain one transaction for 5$, instead of 10$ + refund of 10$ + charge of 5$

the current way holds 15$ on the customers credit, which in high amounts gives a bad experience
