that'll make it easy to tell if it was created via the Dashboard or API

sorry, i'm not sure what you mean? If you include the metadata when creating the Subscription : https://stripe.com/docs/api/subscriptions/create#create_subscription-metadata - the event customer_subscription.created will contain metadata if you create it via the API

Yes, I know that we can identify them by setting the METADATA.
