What type of connected account (Standard, Express, Custom) are you using? Where do you expect the connected accounts to see those information? Is it at Dashboard or the API response?
Our merchants are connected using Express accounts.
We expect the connected accounts to be able to see the information in their list of transactions from us in their Stripe dashboard.
Thanks for sharing. Metadata and customer information won't be shown in the Express dashboard.
For description, it's possible to be use the custom description for charges and transfers. You may reach out to Stripe Support to enable this feature: https://stripe.com/docs/connect/customize-express-dashboard#set-custom-descriptions
What's involved in enabling this feature?
Unfortunately our merchants are unable to reconcile the payments with the people making them, so they can't tell who's paid for what. It's a bit of a mess currently!
By enabling this feature, you're able to set the custom description the Activity feed instead of the default description Payment on {YOUR_PLATFORM}
Is there an extra cost? Why's it not enabled by default?
Not all platforms would like to expose this level of detailed description to their connected account
Right, okay. Could you please enable it for ours?
As mentioned in the earlier chat, you'd need to reach out to Stripe Support to enable this feature as described in the guide: https://stripe.com/docs/connect/customize-express-dashboard#set-custom-descriptions
Okay, I'll do that. Thanks for your help.
