just in general, though we're using cards and us bank account direct debit methods specifically.

Gotcha. I don't think those PaymentMethods have an expiry for the mandate.

So I think I've read (somewhere) that the mandate for direct debit invalidates after a dispute or something like that. But there aren't any "normal" circumstances then where we might have to renew them

YES, that's what it was. thank you. It just lead me to question if there were other circumstances where the mandates would terminate or naturally expire that we would need to prepare for. It sounds like not really.

Yup, for ACH it doesn't expire unless a dispute is reported
That doc also outlines how you can renew/re-collect mandate acknowledgement online OR offline
