hello, the same issue wouldn't persist in production since 0000 is a test SSN. I'd advise reaching out to Stripe Support - https://support.stripe.com/contact/email, they'll be able to look into the issue you mentioned

Ok - I am worried that it will persist with live mode SSNs, too. Have you seen anything on this before?

I haven't seen anything like that, however, we mainly help with developers who want to integrate directly with the Stripe API here on this channel so we wouldn't have the expertise to advise you on verification issues
