Yes, I have reached out to them, but I want to know if Stripe will require extra compliance (SAQ D) when using this integration

It basically reveals the credit card number to the Stripe token API through a reverse proxy. My server never sees the card number.

Ok, I was able to confirm with a colleague as well. You'd still need to talk to VGS as they built this and we have no idea how they built it.
