Hi there

winged sphinx

Hoi

rustic forge

Did you enable automatic tax on your Checkout Session creation?

#

Or your Payment Link?

#

And are you registered to collect tax in your Dashboard?

winged sphinx
#

let me share screenshot.

rustic forge
#

Okay so that screenshot is of tax rates

#

Which you would apply directly yourself

#

This is different than Stripe Tax where we would calculate automatically for you

winged sphinx
#

tax is 0.00$

#

i want to collect tax

#

sonic knoll
#

Hello! I'm taking over and catching up...

winged sphinx
#

okie

sonic knoll
#

Looks like tax is set up on that link, but it will depend on the address entered. Which countries and/or US states are you registered to collect tax in?

winged sphinx
#

sonic knoll

Thanks! Let me take a look...

winged sphinx
#

okie

sonic knoll
#

Looks like this has three Prices set up, which one are you using for the link above?

winged sphinx
#

i am confused how 3 links are generated

#

can you help me to see?

sonic knoll
winged sphinx
sonic knoll
#

Ah, okay, so if you click on the ••• to the right of the View payment link button and choose Edit Price can you change the tax setting there?

winged sphinx
sonic knoll
#

Hm, that looks correct I think. Let me check something, hang on...

winged sphinx
#

okie

winged sphinx
sonic knoll
#

Those tax rates have nothing to do with automatic tax.

winged sphinx
#

ohkay

sonic knoll
#

I must be missing something. This is configured correctly as far as I can tell. Do you know if California taxes digital goods? Maybe there's just no tax for the product category you selected?

sonic knoll
#

Ah, I think that's the problem. I looked it up and it appears that digital products are exempt.

#

If you edit the Payment Link and change it to Cash Donation see if that works (although I don't know if donations are taxable either).

#

But it seems like this should probably be set to Cash Donation.

sonic knoll
#

Any luck with that approach?
