I'm a bit unclear on your question, can you rephrase?

#

This last part I mean:

would a schedule change into to the future for all phases or just the next one?

apologies if my question wasn't clear.

We are in effect unsure if we can shift forwards/backwards in time the billing_cycle_anchor for any given subscription, and how would we do this. Looking the subscription schedules it feels that if we create a schedule for a phase only that phase shifts not all of them. (Also is a phase a billing period slide, like 0-14 days).

For the schedule the billing cycle anchor would change for all phases going forward unless another phase changes the anchor as well

Unfortunately the anchor can't really be changed to a time in the past though. When directly updating the subscription via the API you can basically only reset the anchor to "now" or leave it alone. Using a schedule is basically automating this, so you would be telling Stripe at some point in the future to reset the billing cycle anchor to then https://stripe.com/docs/billing/subscriptions/billing-cycle#changing
