Yes
request.id - string
ID of the API request that caused the event. If null, the event was automatic (e.g., Stripe’s automatic subscription handling). Request logs are available in the dashboard, but currently not in the API.

I have two events here
One is from the api
one is from the dashboard
both generated webhooks with a non-null request.id
Oh gotcha, I misread the description there a bit. Unfortunately I don't think there is an automatic way to distinguish dashboard vs API here.
For things like creation we recommend adding metadata to the call but I don't think that that is possible for deletes
Yeah it isnt't
That's a shame
Are there any workarounds you could think of please?
We have automatic cancellation follow ups going out, and we dont want to confuse customers that we are manually cancelling during support interactions with this
I'm trying to think on this and will get back to you. No immediate ideas though unfortunately, this may have to become a feature request
Ok, can I raise a request
Sounds good, if you write in to our support team they can put that in for you https://support.stripe.com/?contact=true
