Hi 👋 I'm not sure offhand if the Firebase extension reflects when a Subscription is paused.
Wouldn't it mean that a user can sign up to my service, activate their subscription, and then just pause it and continue to use it for free?
Yes, that does sound like something that could happen if you're providing your customers with a way to pause their Subscriptions. If the extension does not currently do what you're looking for, you may need to add custom code to handle that scenario.
I'm not providing the way, it's part of the billing portal that stripe provides.
How would I write the customer code if everything happens on the backend between stripe and firebase?
That's a feature that you can turn off in your portal configuration, in the Cancellations section here:
https://dashboard.stripe.com/test/settings/billing/portal
Sign in to the Stripe Dashboard to manage business payments and operations in your account. Manage payments and refunds, respond to disputes and more.
Who provides the extension support?
Is the cancellation under the customer portal section?
In my view that entire page is for configuring the Customer Portal, there is a section on that page titled Cancellations, and within that is a toggle labeled Pause subscriptions:
This is turned off in my stripe. I wonder if I have stripe setup with a different account. Is there a way to verify which stripe account I have linked via firebase?
I'm not sure, I don't have any hands-on experience with that extension.
ok. I'll look into it further. Who supports the extension?
As far as I'm aware, it's supported by Stripe by my team isn't really familiar with it. You can try writing in to our Support team:
