When testing myself I see that Checkout does differentiate the first payment from the recurring ones. So this may be something specific to that session

Okay looks like you are using a Promo code as opposed to a coupon directly

And looking at your account that Promo code is for a coupon that is 100% off forever

So it isn't one time

Which is why you see that text
