It looks like the Stripe Hosted Invoice page made an API request to source_cancel, and that triggered cancellation of the subscription?
Sign in to the Stripe Dashboard to manage business payments and operations in your account. Manage payments and refunds, respond to disputes and more.
No rush, thanks!
I see the customer was ultimately able to pay the invoice but yes, there were a few 3ds/additional authentication failures before then
Still digging to see why this was canceled
My guess is that there were 4 failed 3ds payment attempts, and it was canceled because our Stripe settings have subscriptions auto canceled at 4 payment attempts?
I think the fact that this is an IN-based customer plays a role here. Still looking into this, sorry for the delay!
After it was canceled, the invoice was marked uncollectible. And then the customer still paid that invoice (we'll need to refund them for it since they basically paid for nothing)
Oh ok, yeah all the issues related to 3DS we've had so far seem to be concerning customers in India
Okay, this does appear related to India RBI rules. Unfortunately, we don't know much about how these affect payment success/failure. I recommend reaching out to our Support team for more help: https://support.stripe.com/contact
