The payment should happen automatically. Sometimes the bank may ask for the user to go though the 3DS flow, but this should be handled automatically by Stripe depending on your dashboard settings here https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/billing/automatic

If you have a monthly subscription with a valid card, then the card will be automatically debited every month. But the payment can always fail (because not enough funds, or 3DS required by the bank, etc). All these cases can be handeled by Stripe automatically depending on your dashboard settings.

You probabbly want to look at all the settings. But the ones I mentioned for failed payments and 3DS:
