As far as I know, the customer's default currency gets locked to the price they subscribe to. You won't be able to switch to a different currency on the customer. You can run a quick test for this to be certain.

@delicate ingot can you take one payment method on a customer and attach it to another customer?

Unfortunately, no. The PaymentMethod would have to be recollected.
