Hello 👋
Not sure, asking a colleague who might know more about this than me.

Yep I was looking through that documentation. The line that confused me was point 2 under the "Create an external test" section:

Click the External test tab, then click Get Started.
If you don’t see the External test tab, verify if you’ve selected public distribution from Create a release.

I am not seeing the External test tab and do not see the public distribution option from Create a release. When I click create a release I have the option to "Choose version" and "Install app" and "Install app" says "This app will only be available to members of the --- account. No external members will have access to this app."

This makes it seem as if I need to go through the Stripe App review and publication process in order to start an external test. If that is the case not a huge deal. I just wanted to see if there was an easier method.

Thanks for providing more context, a colleague is looking into it.

Appreciate your patience. We've looked into it on our end and it doesn't look like there are any workarounds.

However, I'd strongly recommend that you write into our support with your usecase so that we can flag it internally to our Stripe Apps team and see if there are any workable workarounds to this
