Hi there!
Hello soma what's up?
If the prices have different billing periods (monthly and yearly for example), then you need to have two different subscriptions.
If the prices have the same billing period, then you can use a single subscription.
Mmm ok but it's not an issue to have multiple subscription at the same time?
It's better to have a single subscription when possible. But technically a customer can have multiple subscriptions. Each subscription will create their own invoices, and the customer will be charged for each invoice separately.
Ok and it's possible to change the current subscription to a PRO subscripton and at the end it will go back to the Basic subscription through scheduling right?
would that be better practice?
So you would switch your monthly subscription to a yearly subscription and then back to a monthly subscription? Yes that's totally possible, as long as the subscription doesn't have price with different billing cycles at the same time.
And for this you should use Susbcription Schedules yes.
let's say I have a BASIC subscription for the next 8 month, but I want to use the PRO features for the current month. I do the switch and then at the end of the PRO month it brings me back to my BASIC yearly where I was
Yes that's possible
Would you advice us to do so?
In the scheduling I can decide how long exactly would the BASIC yearly plan last? Since we need to remove the used days so it doesn't start at day 0
You only want two Subscriptions if they are going to have both Prices simultaneously and they are different billing intervals
Yes I'm thinking the same
Yep you can dictate how long each phase of the schedule lasts
You would need to perform this calculation
Ok I'm checking the API to understand where we need custom the duration of subscriptions in schedule
this is phases.end_date right?
Yep you can either use end_date or iterations
