I'll need more details on how they got here. The language in the screenshot above sounds like they're trying to log into Stripe but end customers (those paying for a good or service using Checkout) shouldn't need to do this

ah yep, you're right!
If they've used Link before and opted to use Link in this Checkout Session, a verification code will be sent to the phone number they use with Link. They can also choose to "Send code to email instead", which will ask them to "Verify your phone number"
