I'm not familiar with the technical details of SuiteSync, but our finance partner said that the SuiteSync middleware is having trouble extracting the metadata from LineItems with a sli_* prefix in the ID

@trail vigil mostly what you are trying to do is not possible no

The InvoiceItems ii_123 as created via the API for one-off additions for example and for those you control the metadata.
For the sli_123 it's associated with a Price on the Subscription and those reflect the metadata of the Subscription itself (it's some really old behaviour/logic from when a Subscription only had one Price).

Ultimately there's no way to control reliably the metadata shown on an Invoice's line items 😦
