Hi 👋
Do you have some examples of the update API call and the behavior you are seeing (but don't want)?
Hey.
yes give me a second
req_GIEM5M447MslJK
req_SQn7wBeimKRUPe
req_c5SeYhUC7Bopiu
I was playing around bot none of them works due to my payment behavior
Metered plans require usage records to set quantities
but I'm looking at all of these to try and get a better sense for what you are trying to achieve
alright thank you 🙂
if you dont understand what I'm trying to do, I can give you an explanation if that helps. maybe my concept itself needs improvement?
I basically have 3 products (each one has a licensed price as well as a usage based price... you need both for creating your subscription).
lets say the user has the basic-plan and wants to upgrade to professional-plan, the usage based price as well as the licensed based price changes. that's where my issue occures.
From looking at this I don't think you can update payment behavior while modifying the line items
okay. any recommendations? rather use default_incomplete while updating? (I dont really understand the difference to pending_if_incomplete)
Have you tried doing the update to payment behavior in a separate API call?
no
Can you give that a try and see if you get the same behavior?
yes, give me a second
cus_NYteQqP5QUxLmB this customer just updated from one of my plans and it seems to work but my status is past_due now and stripe didnt automatically tried to bill after creating the invoice
is that supposed to happen?
Do you have the request ID?
req_xQfFIJgYa3CF3
Hmmmmm.....that request doesn't appear to exist in our system
req_xQfFIJgYa3CF3r
I'm so sorry
@lean sage so what's the issue with that update? Like what exactly do you see, what don't you expect?
feetscha-subscription-updatemetered
It works when I use payment_behavior „default_incomplete“ but not with „pending_if_incomplete“
what is the supposed approach with pending_if_incomplete ?
I don't really understand the question though. What works, what doesn't, what error do you get, etc.
I‘m sorry I‘m on my phone right now, can we leave the conversation open and continue tomorrow?
No, I will close but you can come back tomorrow on your laptop and ask a detailed question and share your code + what's confusing you and someone on my team can help!
