thanks
Yeah so presentment currency is the currency that your customer pays (see: https://stripe.com/docs/currencies which has more info). We call out in the afterpay docs that this has to match the Stripe account's local currency: https://stripe.com/docs/payments/afterpay-clearpay#collection-schedule
So only an EU account can present in EUR
OK, that is making sense!!!!!!!
Got it.
OK i need some more help with something related
So we are a Stripe Connect platform.
So let's say I want to test what you just said so I need to spin up a testmode Stripe Account that is fake and set up with fake things to be a fake Stripe account set up in EUR so I can test that right?
Set up in *EU. And using EUR.
Is that correct?
Yes that's correct
Except you don't need to set up anything to just test
You should be able to just set the country of the account to an EU country and then test without pretty much any other info submitted
OK, so the Afterpay issue I can resolve. Now the second issue is I forgot how I solved the problem in the past when we added Oxxo as a payment method and wanted to test it. I can't get past your requirements for the test Mexico account. I cannot Oauth the test Mexico account to my platform - the Oauth flow lands me on a page where I need to enter bank details. Is there a path through this?
No path through that as OAuth creates a potential live-mode account so it requires bank info.
However, if you just create the standard account directly and use Connect Onboarding then you can skip the flow and it will be test-mode only
But we are a platform so testing for us always 100% of the time requires Oauth.
I have an account set up yes
It has to be a new account created as a Standard Connected Account.
use Connect Onboarding - I am not sure what that means.
It is a standard account
So just use the API as my platform to create a testing Mexico account - is that correct?
And it will be in my dashboard or something - how do I log into a dashboard of a test account I create with the API?
Is there no way you guys can just connect the existing mexico account - like force it through Oauth?
Yes create a test Mexico account via the API
You can't log into the Dashboard of a test-only account like this
An no, we can't skip the bank part in OAuth
Yeah, that's not going to work and is a lot of development for a single payment method. I think I just need to literally find a Mexican person and pay them to let me connect their account to our app - it would be cheaper than paying a dev to code creating testing accounts via the API that don't have a dashboard. Guys, this is really a lot of friction. If you can enhance this flow it would be greatly appreciated. I don't know why Mexico is so hard. I have accounts from other countries where I connect via Oauth to the best of my recollection.
OK so that solution is not a solution for us so I am stuck and just can't develop for Oxxo at this time which is frustrating and disappointing as I am in Mexico now and literally have to consider going and finding a brick and mortar bank and creating an account just to deal with Stripe testing which is weird.
I mean if it is a test-only account then you just need to provide realistic bank details in OAuth if you know what I'm saying....
routing numbers
But yeah, you must provide some bank details in the OAuth flow
account numbers
It is as if you don't want people doing development
This barrier is impassible
No that is a rough edge in a legacy flow
