Hello! What type of Terminal readers are you discovering?
M2
Ah, those should have a battery level there. Let me check...
Thank you
Because of that, we are always getting the default value
Now, it seems to be happening for iOS too
What version of the Terminal Android SDK are you using?
Looks like this was an issue previously, but it seems like it's been fixed in more recent versions: https://github.com/stripe/stripe-terminal-android/issues/202
Seems like it was fixed on 2.7.0
But we are still seeing the same issue
Maybe we need to update the reader?
Possibly. The reader should automatically update when connected.
Don't we have to trigger that programmatically?
No, not since version 2.0.0: https://github.com/stripe/stripe-terminal-android/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md#bluetooth-reader-updates
After the reader is connected are you able to get the battery level, or does it still not work?
Still not work
Oh, interesting. I just found an internal to-do to update the docs to make it more clear that the battery level during discovery is expected to be zero, but that it would work after being connected.
But it doesn't work even after being connected? You're still getting 0? Or null?
Interesting
ok
let me triple check on my side
I will need to step away for a while
Okay, let us know what you find when you get back!
Thank you!!!
@cobalt siren Yes. It looks like we do get the battery level once it connects.
