I have not tried it yet no, I can try that.
Is it possible its supposed to be the customer ID instead of verification ID? (though I dont think you have to be a Customer to do identity right?)

Correct, you don't have to be a customer to use identity SDK

I think its supposed to be Verification Session ID

Ah it does return if I skip the type checks. Just looks like its missing in the API docs and SDK.
