Hello đź‘‹
Do you have an example PaymentIntent I can take a peek at? My understanding was that we show this under payment_method_details but could be wrong

Hey! Sure: pi_3Mg7vwCxlkTqLKpv0aNEDFki

I also didn't notice anything related to Link on the associated Payment Method.

Hi there đź‘‹ thank you for sharing that ID. I'm taking a look from our side, but am not readily spotting anything on those objects that indicate Link was involved.

#

Sorry, I'm not seeing any distinguishing characteristics to indicate that Link was used here. Thank you for raising this to our attention, I'll be take this feedback to our Link teams.

Thanks for confirming that I'm not missing something! And thanks for passing it on.

Just to be clear, this Dashboard screenshot is how I know that Link was involved.

Though I would note that here we also can't differentiate between "this user checked out using an existing Link account" and "this user created a new Link account during checkout".

Hm, I hadn't thought of details being provided to indicate whether a customer was using an existing Link account or creating a new one. Could you help me understand the business benefits of having that information so I can articulate your envisioned use-case to my colleagues?

It’s mainly to enable product analysis, so we can measure things like checkout duration, payment success, payment churn and retention — by payment method and wallet type, etc.

In the case of Apple/Google Pay, the user comes to our checkout with that wallet already set up, and so they can instantly check out. But if the user only just created a Link account during a particular checkout session, that’s not really relevant to us (at least until they return in the future and then pay instantly with their existing Link account).

Adding an indicator on Payment Method's that they came from Link is being investigated

That’s good to know, thanks! 👍

Thank you for taking the time to articulate that, it is a really good point and something I will also raise to my colleagues.
