ok, I would like to know if it's possible to use Stripe Tax through the API, to get the applicable taxes based on certain parameters (country, zipcode and VAT number ID). Just to get the information without modiying a customer or a subscription.

To give more context. We were using octobat (we use it integrated with aour Stripe account) for that, but it's going to be dep`recated and we need an alternative.

Do you mean here by just getting the tax rate as info? if, the answer is no. You can set Automatic Stripe Tax when using Stripe Prodcuts (Checkout, Invoice, Billing):
https://stripe.com/docs/tax/set-up
Stripe will compute the tax according to the customer informations.
