Hello! Orders is deprecated and not recommended. You should not be building anything new with Orders, and I recommend you pretend Orders does not exist.

Also, I think we're using V2 of the orders API because I don't think the payments field exists for V1

That's odd. I thought those both had a warning. I'll flag that internally. But yeah, both of those are deprecated and we don't recommend using either one. Depending on your use case we generally recommend creating Invoices or using Payment Intents directly instead; it depends on what exactly you want to build.

Gotcha, I'll do a bit more digging on moving things over--probably will have more questions regarding that.

With that said, what are the potential ramifications of using Orders V2 until we can get things moved over?

And, per my original question, do you have any insight on that?

It's my understanding that Orders V2 will be shut down at some point in the future and you'll need to migrate off of it, which is why I strongly recommend you don't build anything new with it now.

I can't share the email here as it's only for people in the beta. I thought we had information about this in the docs, which I did flag internally, so hopefully those docs will be updated with details soon.

As I mentioned previously--new to this team, I'm asking folks if they have seen the email, so we'll see.
But, I was hoping that there'd be a more direct route in the dashboard.

Are you 100% sure that Orders V2 is deprecated? All of the information I'm finding online is only pointing to Orders v1

Yes, I'm 100% certain. I don't know of a way to get to any notification in the Dashboard, but let me check...

Not trying to be argumentative, it's just going to be a big shift to move away from it.
The only deprecation notice I can find is from sometime in late 2019 Orders V1 was deprecated.
Then, mid 2022 Orders V2 was announced and put into beta, but no word about it being deprecated can be found anywhere.

Yep, I understand. You should have an email with all the details, but if you can't access the email I'm not sure where to point you until we get the docs updated.
