Okay, but in live mode there will be wmails sent right, as per my settings

That is correct, as long as you've enabled the settings here: https://stripe.com/docs/billing/revenue-recovery/customer-emails. You can manaully send payment receipt emails in test mode via the Dashboard: https://stripe.com/docs/receipts#manually-send-receipts-from-the-dashboard. Otherwise, no.
