Hi, that test payout account, https://stripe.com/docs/connect/testing#account-numbers is for testing a failed payouts. What connect type is this account?
It's a "custom" connect account
The core issue is that after a failed payout there's no way to update bank information in the hosted Connect onboarding flow
With Custom that is correct, the Platform account would need to collect and update this information: https://stripe.com/docs/api/accounts/update#update_account-external_account. By default, it will remove that old bank account and this new account becomes the default
It's not a bug that the "Payout Details" section in Connect onboarding completely disappears? (see screenshot)
I'm unsure, let me look bit further here
Awesome thanks!
I'm trying to replicate this but taking some time. Can you share the request id for creating the account please?
From looking at this flow, I think it's all expected.
Go through hosted Stripe onboarding to verify user and add bank account (in this case use test Canadian account 000111111113 to trigger failed payout)
2. Create payout
3. Payout fails
4. Navigate to hosted Stripe onboarding again, but now there's no option to update and fix the bank account. The bank account section is completely gone
You'll have to collect and update this information on the account: https://stripe.com/docs/api/accounts/update#update_account-external_account.
I've added/removed external accounts a couple times now on this account but the original request id to create the account was req_fUnBRjX4p4pEDi
