Yes, payment intents use charges internal when payment is attempted (eg, during confirmation)

#

PI is a stateful wrapper around charges to manage eg multiple payment attempts

Ahhh I see. I couldn't really find this reading the documentation ๐Ÿ˜… Sorry for the trouble.

Another question, is it more advantageous to cancel payment intents that have yet to be captured versus one which was captured immediately and not pending on the client's credit card? As in, are there transaction fees applied to both, but one is less than the other?

Fees are incurred upon capture with the public API

So does that mean that if I create a payment intent without capturing the amount right away but then cancel it 2 days later there won't be any fees?

Versus if I create the payment intent and capture it right away and create a refund 2 days later I'd have to pay the transaction fees for both?

Correct, though there is no additional fee for the refund, the original payment fee is not refunded to you when the customer payment is refunded

What the heck, that's awesome! I suppose that for the exact fees amount/percentage I'd have to contact the stripe support?

Oh okay, perfect! Thank you very, very much for your help. I really appreciate it. I've said it every time I asked a question here, but your whole setup with the bot assigning people to questions is really, really cool. Best service I've ever had ๐Ÿ˜…

Thanks a lot for your help, I wish you an awesome day!
