I think that could work for your use case but am still trying to think of the implications (if any) of that workaround.

#

Another thing that may make sense would be to create a one-off invoice and once that is created you can make a subscription schedule that will start on your desired date and has a "100% off" coupon with a duration of once , which would mean the first month would be "free" on the subscription

#

Not saying my idea is better necessarily, just posing it as a possibility to consider

Yes I think both the solutions have their caveats

#

I tried the trial days flow yesterday, I'll try the pause_collection flow once, if that solves the case then great else I'll probably move to the one off invoice with a 100% off coupon for the first month

Do let me know if you find a more dependable workaround for this ๐Ÿ˜›

PS: The only reason why we want to charge the customer on the current date for a future start subscription is that recurring payments might fail and can lead to failure in user capturing. I believe some other companies might also face this, especially while building waitlists. It'll be really nice if stripe can somehow incorporate this functionality inbuilt (in a simpler form) in the future!

Thanks for the help!
