I don't find a failed request in Developer - Logs. The "wrong format" error appeared in the UI form, is such an error visible from the dashboard?
Sounds like just a basic luhn check validation failure? And the CVC is irrelevant in that case. Was it a one-off? Does it happen consistently?
Could it be that they just mistyped a digit? Does it happen on both MC and AMEX cards?
does it happen consistently?
no, this is the first time I've seen it
They claim they typed everything correctly for both MC and AMEX and both showed "wrong format". And from mobile it succeeded. I can give you the request id for the success, if useful.
I guess the question is how can a luhn validation fail on web but succeed on mobile
I'm really not sure to be honest. My guess, especially is that this has only happened once, is that either:
- User is not entering details correctly as they claim.
- There’s something on their browser where it errors that is interfering with the input data.
Other than that, you just need to continue monitoring it for a while and see if this becomes redundant.
yeah, I see, I regret not asking them to try on another browser (if a plugin interfered for example). Will keep an eye on this, thanks for your time, this channel is amazing btw 🙇♂️ keep rocking!
