Stripe offers two types of Tax:
- Tax rate: manually created by you
- Stripe Tax: Stripe compute tax automatically for you
Which one do you intend to use? Could you also share the Checkout Session that doesn't work in your intended scenario?
here are the screenshots for example
- If i have Stripe Tax enabled (and i am based in Australia), shouldn't the tax be always enabled, even if the billing country/region isn't Australia?
Could you share the Checkout Session ID (cs_xxx), so that I can check how your current integration is like?
It's fine to share Checkout Session ID in this channel
cs_live_b1rVDF0eu7NJLa6K7HXvbmZedzk7KoWA805gh7jHRDQdxQ4tsv3EpMb9Ax
They can be public and only Stripe staff can access the details
cs_live_b1rVDF0eu7NJLa6K7HXvbmZedzk7KoWA805gh7jHRDQdxQ4tsv3EpMb9Ax is sufficient
thanks
I have a look at the your payment link of this Checkout Session. The tax settings are correct.
As the Tax settings in your dashboard is registered in Australia and New Zealand, I'm not too sure how Tax in Australia works. It might be that tax is only required for customer with specific billing country.
As this channel is for technical development questions, I'd recommend reaching out to Support for detailed automatic tax calculation as they will be better to assist you on tax regulations: https://support.stripe.com/contact
thanks river, will reach out to support!
