Hi, it's a reasonable feedback and you can write to our Support team. Appreciate. Now regard the detecting part, I think when you receive ie invoice.payment_failed you will have an Invoice object, then you can look at its attempt_count or next_attempt_payment

If no next_attempt_payment then it means the Invoice won't be retried, then you check the Subscription status. If it is active then gotcha
