When I click on the SEPA or SOFORT, it takes to the page. when I am on that page, it triggeres the payment_failed event. it doesnt matter which bank account number or anything.

Yes on it. i see, you are receiving checkout.session.completed and checkout.session.async_payment_succeeded with SOFORT after the failure event

Yeah I mean you receive the events mentioning that the payment is succeeded, (e.g. evt_1MYUYtGoMerEoZx8rGq3maYG, evt_1MYUYqGoMerEoZx8X3VNzqRv...)
