What's even worse is that if you click the "+ Add" button in the "Missing a bank account" section the page crashes
Is this expected?
Yeah unfortunately this is a known limitation right now
that UI doesn't handle the case where you have a debit card as the external account I'm sorry
You'll need to flag with our support team so that they can give you an ETA on improving this. You can contact them here https://support.stripe.com/contact/email
@onyx mesa what we are trying to accomplish here is to have US-based users (who indicated interested in connecting Debit Card Payout method) go through the Connect Onboarding flow and ultimately setup a Debit Card.
Currently, when we send them through Connect Onboarding it defaults to Bank Account.
Is there any way to either
-
Set the onboarding flow to include Debit Card setup OR
-
Send user to Connect Onboarding only to complete Stripe Verification and then have them redirect back to our platform for external account setup? AFAIK this flow always shows the Bank Account option which would be confusing to users
mostly no to both. You have to disable bank account collection for now entirely and go back to what you had before unfortunately
Dang! I was worried that might've been the answer. Ok thank you for the prompt reply @onyx mesa 🙏
I flagged this when we built the feature, so I'll raise again too but I don't see us fixing this soon unfortunately (it's not an easy fix)
