  1. when you first onboard an express account and add an external account, you're allowed to select a currency

  2. this overrides what the account's actually currency is. For example, I am able to add a USD bank account but my bank account is actually in CAD

  3. But you cannot update the currency OR remove the account in the update drawer, you MUST add another account.

  4. and after adding another account, UNLESS you change the default currency back to the correct currency, all accounts will be added incorrectly as the first currency

I'm not currently given the same onboarding flow as you with the choice of bank account or debit and currency, so my bank account was added with default CAD. I might suggest writing in to support with this, and especially focusing on what you're trying to do that does not work: adding an account in CAD after setting one up in USD, even after using the currency switcher.

It could be related to being the same bank account, yes, but unfortunately I'm not able to test this
