Hey gang. Mostly wondering what are the steps within my account to run validity checks, and if Stripe adds a markup on those

This is kind of already being done by Stripe when we perform 3DS authentication and use machine learning to block fraudulent activity at the Payment Processor level.

As for implementing the Visa-specific version of that, we can't really help with that in this channel. Stripe doesn't have a way to integrate it on top of all the fraud analysis we already do

Ok. But how do I answer this question: "of the 1,000 cards i need to charge next Monday, how many of them are still valid?"

Are you a software developer? Do you have those 1000 cards in a database or are they already added to Stripe?

I scope out the projects for our developers. The cards are already in Stripe. We experience churn from failed payments so trying to figure it out

We get a bunch of "invalid card details" with cards on file. So trying to figure out how to zero dollar auth those ahead of time so we can see which ones are and aren't live

You can just create authorizations for each card: https://stripe.com/docs/payments/place-a-hold-on-a-payment-method

Place a hold on a payment method

Separate payment authorization and capture to create a charge now, but capture funds later.

Thanks. But this method would place a small charge on customer accounts?

It creates a zero-dollar authorization as far as I know

Unless you tell it to auth a specific amount
