I don't think there's a way to carry over the remaining trial period as such.
You'd likely want to listen to webhook events for subscription upgrade and add the trial period back by calling the API

Thank you for your response. I see, that sucks a bit. Thanks for the suggestion, but that means, it would show the customer wrong information when they are about to confirm the changed plan in the billing portal, am I right?

Is there another option, or does that mean you need to develope ones own customer billing portal?
