What do you call "the invoice details preview"? You sent 2 pictures and I'm not sure which one is the problem
where is that from? I'm sorry those are literally just pictures with no context
When we charge our customers Stripe creates an invoice for us, with a unique URL
We make that URL available to our customers so they can download the invoice
When the user opens that URL they see that last image
Customer is on yearly price A for $100. They move to monthly price B for $10. What Stripe does is credit them back for the remainder of the year they paid, and then charge them for a full month. Which means a lot of the time the credit is higher than B so they don't pay anything with that change.
We are okay with that. The think that confused our customer is the date range. There is no reference to the new interval (from yearly to monthly)
They only see the yearly interval
yeah I don't get it sorry. Can you provide a concrete example Invoice id for me to look at?
Okay, let me walk you through it:
- Customer subscribe to our product with a YEARLY subscription.
- Later, they decide to change the interval to MONTHLY. And do that
- They go to our Invoices page (in our product) and click on Open over the last invoice.
- They are redirected to this URL: https://invoice.stripe.com/i/acct_1FsuyLDadFODEYGF/test_YWNjdF8xRnN1eUxEYWRGT0RFWUdGLF9OR3ZRVVVMallvT2xRSG5QeDExbDgwQ1Z3THlQbTF1LDY1NzI2Njk40200FD9iBgdP?s=ap
- They click on View invoice details and see that Stripe only show YEARLY interval they are coming from instead of the new MONTHLY interval
Please give me the exact Invoice id in_123 so that I can look at it, thank you.

yeah okay something feels off here in the way we surface the Invoice's date I agree. It's because the yearly Price was going until Jan 2024 so that's what we have in the proration but it makes for a super confusing Invoice in that case 😦
I'll flag internally though it's not something we'll fix any time soon I think, it's always been like this
Thanks for your time.
