We have client he has two subscription one says cancelled and other says expired which is incomplete_expired//
I don't want they will get the emails for second subscription
Hi 👋 we aren't as familiar with email behavior, but I don't believe they'll receive emails as incomplete_expired indicates that the Subscription didn't move to an active state because it expired before the first payment succeeded.
How we make sure they wont get emails.. they are still getting emails.
What emails are they receiving?
That they have to pay for starter plan for which they subscfibed
We have email settings for sending emails before subscriptions have expired or been cancelled. Do they still have some kind of active subscription? https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/billing/automatic

Subscription created on 13 jan, stripe tried to deduct payment on 23 jan after 10 days of free trail and failed.
Subscription created on 23 jan tried to charge immediately and again failed.
CORRECT?
They subscribed on 13 jan and and get 10 days free trial.
If they cancel the subscription from billing portal before 23 jan, then there will be no invoice

Yes I see the trial and the failed payment after. What email did they get after then?
Correct of they cancel the subscription while it is still trialing, no paid invoice will be created
We have message from client
"Yes I do not want to move forward with a paid plan. But I keep getting mails that I have to pay for the Starter Plan, which I do not want to do."
I will see if I can pull up a history of emails that were sent to them

I guess for second subscription they started checkout session and never completed/// emails from that subscription. I am not sure though
Upcoming renewal emails would be sent while the subscription is still active. You do have those turned on but that would have only been sent before the cancelation https://admin.stripe.com/settings/billing/automatic#:~:text=Send emails about upcoming renewals
Because checkout.session.expired for the one which shows expired now
Incomplete checkout sessions shouldn't create emails either. Will double check on that subscription though

It actually looks like checkout sessions completed for both subscriptions. Which is expected, we shouldn't consider someone subscribed with Checkout until they actually submit the page
