Hello there

#

Yes updating a Subscription Schedule and updating a Subscription do not behave exactly the same.

#

Do you have a specific example or question about this behavior?

high zephyr
#

are you able to look up customer by id? coz i think it's better to see the events. if not i'll try and give you all the request id

dark gazelle
#

Yep customer ID works

#

But can you clarify what you are confused about specifically?

#

Is something blocking you or you are just looking to understand the behavior?

high zephyr
#

pretty much both. it's what i'm tryin to implement.
This is the customer that has a regular subscription that i've updated the subscription schedule on a later date cus_NEfzCfzRDrp9Q7

This is the customer that has initially a subscription with a trial that i updated to a regular subscription on a later date cus_NEfZIP09IdYWaW

#

the thing i'm confused about is the draft invoice that gets created. this is something unexpected to me.

#

I see

#

Give me a sec to look at the examples

dark gazelle
#

K sorry, server is quite busy.

#

So yes this has to do with updating a Sub that is one trial as you specified. When that happens, we always create a new invoice

#

Since the update you made was to a $0 Price

#

We just create a new $0 invoice

#

Whereas in your other update it was already on a paid Price

#

So with that update there isn't actually a change in "interval"

#

So you don't see a new Invoice generated

high zephyr
#

it's all good. gotcha. so paid price won't result in a draft invoice but $0 price does.

dark gazelle
#

Yep

#

Really it doesn't matter the Price

#

But it matters that it was on trial

aah. that makes sense. i think that clears things up. thanks @dark gazelle PU_PeepoLeaveWave
