Hi 👋 no, on_behalf_of does not work with Direct Charges because the Connected Account is already the merchant-of-record in that flow.

Are you seeing Invoices that you created via a Direct Charge pulling in address information from your Platform account?

Hi Toby,

let me explain our flow and what we are trying to do:

  • our connected account (merchant) fill in onboarding process
  • we dont have his billing address and because of standard accounts, we cannot retrieve this information from the onboarding correct?
  • connected account requests payment to his customer via hosted invoice page
  • so we were thinking we would use this on_behalf_of parameter via API and create for our connected accounts invoice ON BEHALF OF his name, his billing address and fill this info to the invoice for his customer.

Does it make sense? We dont use checkout, because until last week you didnt have a feature to create one time invoice and now we are too deep in implementation of hosted invoice page 🙂

Direct Charges already do everything as though it was being done by your Connected Account directly, it should be displaying information from the Connected Account by default.

the billing address isnt in the final invoice of the connected account, so theres probably mistake somewhere, but we dont know where

in the invoice theres only phone number and email

I assume that with so limited information you dont have an idea, where could be mistake right?

Looking in to this, it sounds like it is likely some configuration issue on the connected account

Is it possible that the Standard account doesn't have it set?
