Not quite sure I understand that flow or your situation. Can you tell me more about why there are all of these draft invoices and why you are looking to finalize them?

Sure.

We have plenty of customers on subscriptions that are unpaid.

Sometimes they call up to settle their debt but they can't see all that they owe on the customer portal because after a subscription falls into "unpaid" status, subsequent invoices are not finalized and stay in draft.

So to solve this issue, I've sought to finalize all draft invoices with auto_advance = false so that customers with debt can see all their missed invoices.

If they are set to charge the user automatically, they would attempt to charge your users automatically when they are finalized
