Hello! That's correct. There's documentation here: https://stripe.com/docs/billing/subscriptions/overview#canceling-subscriptions
Ok. Thanks for the confirmation.
I don't know if this is the best place for a feature request, but it would be really nice if failed async subscription upgrades wouldn't cancel the existing plan and would either revert to the existing active plan or wouldn't update the existing plan until a successful payment. I'm happy to make this suggestion in a more appropriate place if that would be better.
We already have that feature available. It's called pending updates and is documented here: https://stripe.com/docs/billing/subscriptions/pending-updates
Is that available through Stripe Checkout and the Billing Portal?
Ah, no, I don't believe so.
Actually it would need to be the Billing Portal. We're not using Checkout for upgrades. I didn't see a way to configure that for the Billing Portal.
Ok. Gotcha. That's where the feature request would be handy.
It's not a common issue but it does create a lot of lifting on our end to make sure a failed upgrade async payment through the Billing Portal doesn't completely cancel the user's subscription so the ability to configure pending updates for the billing portal would be really nice.
I flagged your feedback internally!
