Are there any error messages produced?

#

None whatsoever. When I insert the Chip, it says "The Chip Cannot be Read'

#

I'm using the server-driven flow. The reader's status never changes, the Payment Intent never updates..

#

But it can successfully read a legit debit card.

Can you share an example payment intent or the reader serial for me to check its logs?

"pi_3MPAnUBkhAw02egF0EgeqNQ0"

#

This PI shows the reader successfully reading a personal debit card in test mode: pi_3MMKQhBkhAw02egF1Q7fOeYB

Thanks for the ID. Checking in to your logs and will get back with what I can find.

Hey apologies, still looking here. Seeing some errors but they are a bit generic so not getting much useful info from them yet

Generic reader failures, such as this one (evt_1MPAisBkhAw02egFOJ7beeCA), are a result of me single-pressing the power button. It puts the reader to sleep, and shows a generic "try again" message on wake.

Good to know, thank you for the context

Yes, that should definitely be a reader that that card works with

Hey, as a test, would you be able to a phone + Apple/Google tap to pay on your terminal to see if that transaction goes through? In test mode it should replace those card details with a 4242 card.

#

Basically, that could help us differentiate if it is more likely that the reader is having problems or if you got two bad test cards

normal rapids
#

Ah, sure. One minute.

#

That was using "Apple Pay" tap using my real debit card.

#

Glad that worked at least. So it does sound like you probably got two bad test cards, would you mind writing in to our support team again to get another one? https://support.stripe.com/?contact=true

#

I will file something internally to make sure we don't have a bad batch of them or something

The only identifying thing on this card is the IDEMIA on the back, which are identical between both cards.

#

We should have a record of which ones we sent you, hopefully that will be enough to figure that out here

Roger. Will follow-up with the folks who helped me get a replacement last time. Thanks!
