gotcha. maybe I'm looking in the wrong place, let's step back a bit. On Stripe Connect Express accounts, I'm building a report that shows payouts and the stripe fees that came from the original payments from customers that are included in that payout. Since it shows 0 fee, does that mean that Stripe isn't taking any fees at all between customer and payout to external account?

My understanding is Stripe charges "Connect Account" and "Payout" fees to the platform account about once a month - and they are NOT implemented in test mode

hi GiGStartr, thanks for that, noted!, but doesn't Stripe also take a percent of each payment?

The payment fee is taken when the payment is made - but that is different from and separate from payout fees -and where you would find a payment fee depends on exactly how you're processing payments.

hahaha

I'm just hired to make the report generator, didn't set this up. Any chance you could help sort how they're processing payments?

For exampl,e, if you are doing "separate charge and transfer", the transfers would not be charged, and the balance transactions associated would not show a charge - you'ld have to trace back to the payment

I mean, where we'd find that fee

As I said, it depends on how the whole system was setup. I don't work for stripe, so I have no way to look into that - and they may not either.)

@keen niche You'd need to look at the payment intent on the platform

#

That's the payment on the express account

I see, but when I check balanceTransactions, neither charges nor transfers nor payments are showing any fees.

#

@final lodge thanks, I'll try that

@sudden geyser thank you

I troll here because they've helped me in the past, and interesting questions come up. I'm reasonably good at asking questions.
