Standard Account and Custom Account are completely different fund flow (Direct Charge vs Destination Charges). If you created Standard Account, you should be able to login into its Dashboard (in test mode) or wait for your business partner to do it in their Dashboard (in Live mode)

I am unable to modify the connect account, thus unable to process purchase
How, either dashboard, or prefer API can I update the connect Standard account

When you created the Standard Account, didn't you have its credential?
created using API and same email as platform
