Are you testing in Test mode or Live mode?
Test mode
No email will be sent in Test mode. It's a known specs and limitation
But in Live mode your customer will receive email
And would the retries (for failed payment) also work in live mode as they are also not working in test mode?
Retries should work in both Test mode and Live mode, only with different exponential backoff value
I am using the becs direct debit. I tried with the bsb: 000-000 and account-number:922222227, but this failed my payment and no retries happened. My subscription got cancelled immediately, but it should have retried for 7 days and then subscription should have been canceled.
Can you provide the Invoice Id of that failed payment?

Hmm I think somehow this Invoice only consider 1 time for retries, and immediate failed after 🤔
Do you observe the same behavior on card Subscription?
No, i did not checked for card payments.
I don't want the card mode of payment. I need to implement it in becs itself.
This same thing is happening with all my failed payments/ subscriptions.

The invoice you shared is the first one of the subscription. And I think many of the subscriptions settings in the dashboard don't apply to the very first invoice.
Yes, the invoice I shared above was the first invoice of my subscription. But I tested it in on a subscription where my first invoice was successful and later I updated the my bsb and account number as follows. bsb: 000-000 and account-number:922222227
For this case also, my subscription failed immediately after my second payment failed. No retries happened!
