You can't use live details in test mode. You would use one of our test cards: https://stripe.com/docs/testing

Unless you are saying you onboarded an account in live mode and are trying to run a live transaction and that isn't working?

we have downloaded the sample dotnet project from your documentation and all is fine when applying test settings. However when we change the settings to live (api key, etc...) the payment form does not show

so on the sample project when the checkout.html page loads it should (and does in test) show the payment div so where you enter card details and submit.

Also just fyi that testing in live mode is prohibited by card networks and we can't recommend you do that.

It is the key that starts with pk_ and is used for your client-side code
