What exactly do you want to test? We strongly recommend to do your tests in test mode.

we have a service that let fans book a video call with an artist for a fee

the artist sets up stripe connect to receive the money, and the service receives a cut

It's more about knowing if the overall flow from an artist setting up a profile to fans booking times work. It does work with the test api and we have tested a little bit in production

we are just worried that some of the steps in for example stripe connect might fail

maybe you are a bit biased to answer this "worry" 😅

but strongly recommend to use test helps i guess

Got it. Well again if all of this works in test mode, then it should be fine! Like you said it's complex to test in live mode since it requires you to provide valid information.
