We can't get an ID because the request is returning a Stripe exception
So it's an SDK validation error?
Maybe an error log?
Missing required param: single_use[amount]
Oh, we found the request ID
req_7yW0Pplk3d9HVZ
Still looking
Thanks
This is definitely a required field. I am checking if you can set it to a higher amount and charge less. Otherwise you will need to use multi-use
Thanks, we were wondering if we could do something like that
Yes, I just confirmed. If you don't know the amount, you can use the multi-use mandate.
Unfortunately we have had trouble finding out much more about what you can do in this situation. Test mode seems to allow overcharging or undercharging from the amount specified in the mandate and I'm not finding it documented as to whether charging less than the amount on a mandate is allowed.
Because this is getting a bit in to regulatory questions. I think it would be best to reach out to our support team to ask if undercharging like this is allowed. They should be able to put you in contact with someone who can speak to that.
API-wise, if you can't specify a higher amount and then charge less, it may make sense to just make a multi use mandate which don't seem to require these amounts up front.
